A Co-op store has been destroyed after thieves used a forklift to steal a cash machine.
A trail of destruction was left behind at the Co-op store in Addingham, West Yorkshire, just before 2am on Friday.
Locals said that a black BMW car and white van was also involved and the two vehicles left in the direction of Richmond.
Local Edward Fernández said: ‘This is crazy. Nothing like this happens in Addingham.
‘Everyone here is stunned. I live right round the corner and I had no idea this was happening as I slept. I just went round to get milk this morning and saw a massive hole in the wall.
‘People are just shocked that this could happen in such a peaceful village.’
In a video, two women are overheard off camera whispering to each other and one says: ‘Oh my God they are bringing half the building down.’
The other woman says: ‘Ssh ‘cos you can hear them,’ while lots of alarms and crashing can be heard.

The pair spot that the van belongs to a scaffolding firm and believe it is a stolen vehicle.
West Yorkshire Police said: ‘At 01.48 this morning (7/2) police were called to a ram raid burglary at the Coop on Main Street, Addingham.
‘Witnesses reported three vehicles – a black car, white van and Telehandler had rammed into the front of the shop and stolen the cash machine.
‘The Telehandler was abandoned at the scene, the two other vehicles left the scene in the direction of Richmond.
‘Enquiries into the incident are ongoing, and a scene remains in place.
‘Local Neighbourhood Patrols will be in area to provide reassurance.’
