Who’s Watching Invincible & His Family At The End Of Season 3, Episode 3
Warning: This article contains SPOILERS for Invincible season 3, episodes 1-3, and the Invincible comic series.Invincible season 3’s intense first three episodes ended with an unidentified figure watching Mark and his family, leaving questions over who this mysterious villain could be. The unpopular decision to change the show’s release format in season 2 and introduce a midseason break was rectified as Invincible season 3’s release schedule saw three episodes released at once, with weekly episodes to follow. Luckily, reverting to the original format has allowed viewers to get much more hooked on the story, making episode 3’s cliffhanger ending all the more effective, adding to the speculation about the unknown figure’s identity.
After Invincible season 2’s ending made it clear the Viltrumites would be a problem in the future, season 3 also brought back villains from Mark’s past like Doc Seismic and Titan, while pitting Cecil against him in the process. As a result, there are an almost endless number of options as to who could be watching Mark at the end of episode 3, with the possibility of a new antagonist being introduced also on the table. However, with the character getting some brief dialog and the comics having a very similar panel, the culprit’s identity is pretty much confirmed.
The Person Watching Invincible Is Angstrom Levy
Invincible Season 2’s Main Antagonist Has Already Returned
While it’s possible Invincible opts to deviate from its source material, it seems extremely likely that the person watching Mark is Angstrom Levy. Although the villain was supposedly killed off at the end of last season, Invincible appears to have brought him back for the latest installment, which lines up with Levy’s comic arc. Despite only getting a glimpse at the character’s arm and hearing a single line from them in season 3, the villain’s obsessive nature towards Mark makes him the prime candidate to have cameras following him everywhere, and it’s hard to imagine another character replacing him.
Unless the series opts to make an extreme change, fans can expect Levy to have a prominent role going forward as he continues his feud with Mark.
The comics offer some guidance as to what happens next for Angstrom Levy after Invincible season 2, and his story is almost identical to the one season 3 is currently telling. After miraculously surviving his confrontation with the protagonist in the source material, Levy spies on Mark and his loved ones using the same orb cameras seen in the show, all but confirming he is the mysterious figure teased in episode 3. Therefore, unless the series opts to make an extreme change, fans can expect Levy to have a prominent role going forward as he continues his feud with Mark.
How Angstrom Levy Is Alive After Invincible Season 2
The Cunning Antagonist Had A Contingency Plan For His Fight With Mark
Mark appeared to brutally beat Angstrom Levy to death leaving almost no questions about his fate, yet the antagonist is already back, creating questions about how he survived season 2’s finale. Although we never quite see just how bad Levy’s injuries are, the blood covering Mark and the surrounding area alongside the protagonist’s reaction suggests they were fatal, but this isn’t quite the truth. The villain’s injuries were indeed severe, but despite being unhinged and full of rage, Levy had a contingency plan after fighting Mark, as the source material revealed that he contacted inter-dimensional doctors following the confrontation.
As a result, Levy was rescued by expert medical professionals who managed to nurse him back to health, albeit leaving him even more scarred than before. Regardless, he was able to survive and eventually returned close to full health in the source material, suggesting he probably went through a similar process in the show. With Invincible season 3 already teasing the villain’s return, his recovery process may be even quicker in the adaptation – given only a few months have passed since his showdown with Mark – and he will undoubtedly have a key impact in the coming episodes.
Invincible Is Setting Up The Invincible War Comic Arc
The Invincible War Looks Like It Could Happen Sooner Than Expected After Levy’s Return
Having teased the Viltrumite invasion in season 2, it seemed like the villainous species would be Invincible‘s main threat going forward, but Levy’s return sets up an equally brutal arc. The Invincible War is one of the comics’ biggest storylines, and it may be just around the corner now that its main instigator is back. With Levy’s hatred of Mark only growing after the protagonist left him for dead, his next move in the series will likely involve recruiting alternative versions of Invincible from across the multiverse, promising to help them expand their empires if they can kill the protagonist.

Assuming Prime Video’s version of the story continues to follow the source material, the Invincible War may even begin in season 3, as Levy’s presence came way earlier than expected in the latest installment.
