Paul’s disappearance comes months after Jay Slater, a 19-year-old bricklayer, vanished in Tenerife.

Jay vanished after attending a music festival on the Spanish island in June, On the final night, he left with two people he had met there to go to their rental property in a secluded part of the island.

Lucy Law, a friend of the Lancashire local, said he phoned her the following morning to say he was lost and thirsty out in the mountains and his phone battery was nearly drained.

Jay’s body was found near the last location of his mobile phone in July after a weeks-long search that saw his family and friends fly to the island to help track him down.

Officials said Jay died of traumatic head injuries, consistent with a fall from height.
