Dragon Ball DAIMA has slowly earned its place as one of the best series in the beloved franchise created by Akira Toriyama. Despite its odd premise, the series has proven to be exactly what it needed, giving fans an entertaining story that has enriched the lore of the series like never before. Nonetheless, despite how amazing the series is, fans have noticed a few plot inconsistencies.

One of these errors was Gomah’s wish in episode #1, which turned Goku and his friends into children. Fans have wondered since the beginning why, if the Demon King was worried about the Z Fighters’ strength, he did not ask for them to die. Episode #11 has not only resolved this issue but also made it a vital part of the plot, a development that shocked more than one fan.

The Legendary Namekian Tricked Gomah From the Beginning

During episode #11 of Dragon Ball DAIMA, the heroes come across Neva, the Namekian responsible for turning them back into children at the beginning of the series. While at first, the elder tried to act like a senile old man, Piccolo quickly saw through his act, using the opportunity to interrogate him. Neva readily confessed that he was indeed responsible for making them younger, as he had already foreseen this was the wish of the Demon King.

When Piccolo asked what he would do if he were asked for a more sinister wish, the elder replied that he would have tricked Gomah into believing that he had a lapse in judgment due to his senility and still turned them into children. Although not explicitly, what the Namekian warrior wanted to ask was if Neva ever had any intent to harm the Z Fighters. The elder did not seem to pose a threat to the heroes at the time, as he even commented on how surprised he was that they had remained as strong even as children.

While this moment caused many more questions to be raised among fans, like what Neva’s true purpose in the series might be, it did help solve a massive plot hole. The elder’s statement explained that Goku and his friends were not killed by Gomah mainly because the Demon King did not think about that possibility. Moreover, even if he had attempted to use Shenron to dispose of his enemies, Neva would have altered his wish to stop him from doing so.

Neva Is Still Hiding His True Motives

Dragon Ball DAIMA episode #11 might have solved one of the story’s main issues, yet it also has caused fans to question why the series is heading in this direction. Neva being the main reason why the heroes are still alive during the series is a revelation that feels unfit for the evil Namekian. When he was first introduced, the elder seemed to be a malevolent and treacherous person, working with the Demon King without any concerns. Despite claiming he was trying to help the protagonists, his demeanor seemed uncharacteristically chipper for someone being forced to work for Gomah.

His behavior during the beginning of the latest episode did not help his case at all, as he seemed to be only interested in the Demon Realm’s Dragon Ball Glorio was carrying. Even though it is still subtle, the series is pointing at Neva still hiding what his true motives for helping the heroes are. The possibility of the elder Namekian betraying Goku and his friends grows larger each second he spends with them on this journey. Many fans had already speculated that Neva could be revealed as the final villain of the series, a theory that keeps gaining strength.

Neva Could Be Using Goku to Collect the Dragon Balls

He Could Have Been Looking for Powerful Warriors to Defeat His Creations

Another major revelation found in Dragon Ball DAIMA episode #11 was Neva being the creator of the mighty Tamagami. These powerful warriors act as the protectors of the Demon Realm’s Dragon Ball, preventing anyone from collecting the orbs and summoning the Eternal Dragon. Only the strongest characters in the series, like Goku or Vegeta, would be able to defeat these guardians, as their power is said to be even higher than the Demon King’s. It might be possible that Neva, as a member of the Namekian Dragon clan, does not possess the physical strength needed to defeat his creations.

As such, he would need to find warriors with enough power to defeat the Tamagami to recover the Dragon Balls. This desire to acquire the Demon Realm’s treasures could be the reason behind his odd behavior when approaching the heroes. Neva might be planning to wait until the Z Fighters collect the three Dragon Balls so he can make his still-unknown wish a reality. His cunning plan could be the reason why he fervently insisted on accompanying the heroes to collect the other two orbs. Instead of helping the protagonists become adults again, Neva could steal their wish.

Dragon Ball DAIMA’s story has proven to be full of twists and turns, keeping fans on the edge of their seats from the beginning. Neva’s role in the story has a high possibility of shocking viewers once it is revealed later down the line. Whether he is the final villain of the series or not, it is clear that he will play a major role in upcoming episodes.
