Corny love letter that got Seattle police chief fired over scandal with underling revealed

A corny love letter that got Seattle’s police chief fired for lying about a fling with an underling was revealed Thursday — with his alleged lover comparing him to a “Disney prince.”

The note was found addressed to Police Chief Adrian Diaz in his department-issued SUV by the top cop’s security guard, according to The Seattle Times.

“You woke me up,” it read. “Like a prince in one of your Disney movies. I hope I always know your kiss. I hope I always feel your influence. I hope to always know you and me. I love you.”

The eye-rolling note was considered proof by Mayor Bruce Harrell that Diaz had tried to cover up an affair with the female employee he promoted to chief of staff, the paper reported.

The message appears to have been written by Diaz’s alleged romantic partner, Jamie Tompkins, a former Fox 13 news anchor-turned-cop who was promoted in June 2023.

The note was part of a 40-page investigation into the career-ending affair by the city’s Office of Inspector General released Tuesday evening — just hours before Diaz was canned by Harrell.

“Based on the findings from the Office of Inspector General’s report, I made the decision to remove Adrian Diaz from the Seattle Police Department,” Harrell said in a statement.

Diaz has denied having a romantic relationship with Tompkins and previously said that he’s gay and she was a support for him when he came out in June, according to the Seattle Times.

“From the start of this investigation, I have been truthful and clear: I never engaged in a romantic or inappropriate relationship with Ms. Tompkins,” Diaz told FOX 13 Tuesday.

He accused the city of firing him in “retaliation” for coming out as gay.

Tompkins has said allegations that her relationship with Diaz was romantic are “completely false.”
