Investigators are currently looking at a page of notes the 26-year-old allegedly scrawled in a spiral notebook before he allegedly gunned down UnitedHealthcare’s CEO Brian Thompson last week, a source told CNN.

In one note, Mangione allegedly weighed what could be better than “to kill the CEO at his own bean counting conference.”

He allegedly acknowledged, too, that a shooting would be more targeted — noting that a bomb “could kill innocents,” the source said.

Mangione is accused of fatally shooting Thompson as the 50-year-old CEO walked to a Manhattan hotel where UnitedHealthcare’s parent company, UnitedHealth Group, was holding its annual investor conference.
