Much loved burger chain to close all but one of its branches

Hungry Cow will now operate from one venue in Flintshire

A Welsh burger chain is set to close two of its three outlets due to ‘the stress of managing multiple locations’.

Hungry Cow restaurants in Colwyn Bay and Flint, in northern Wales, are to close with ‘immediate effect’.

The popular family-run business launched in Holywell in 2021, and later opened another site in Prestatyn.

Those branches previously closed, leaving only a restaurant in Mold, Flintshire, which will now be the owners’ sole focus.

The chain is not to be confused with The Hungry Cow, a London-based burger chain with five branches which remain open.

A spokesperson said: ‘We are a small family run business and the stress of managing multiple locations whilst trying to ensure we maintain the highest standards has taken its toll.

‘Although we have enjoyed our times of expansion, we believe that the right decision for us as a business is to now take a step back in order for us to move forward in the future.

‘Our Mold Bar and Restaurant will remain open as normal, where we will be focussing on creating a unique and consistent dine in, take away and delivery service with 100 per cent of our efforts for our customers.

‘Lastly, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our fantastic team at hungry cow & all of our customers for your continued support. We look forward to seeing you all in the Mold Bar and Restaurant in the near future.’
