Teen speeding in dad’s BMW tops 130mph then smashes into home as family inside

A reckless teenager caused a shocking £357,000 worth of damage after losing control of his father’s BMW and crashing into a family home near Hastings, Sussex. The teen was clocked at speeds of up to 130mph during a high-speed chase with police earlier this year.

The family inside the property were fortunate to have survived, having been in the living room just moments before the crash. Ahmed’s DNA was found on the airbag, confirming he was driving at the time of the incident.

Samin Ahmed, 19, from Bromley, southeast London, has since admitted to dangerous driving and causing criminal damage. At Lewes Crown Court on November 7, he was banned from driving for two years. The ex-security doorman also received an 18-month suspended prison sentence and must complete 250 hours of community service.

Additionally, he is required to attend 15 Rehabilitation Activity Requirement sessions and pay fines totalling £1,187. Sussex Police highlighted that speeding remains a leading cause of death or serious injury on the roads.

PC Lloyd Archer, involved in the pursuit of Ahmed, commented: “Ahmed’s reckless driving was appalling. He risked his own life as well as the safety of every other road user and resident, and is extremely lucky he did not cause a fatality that night.

“We are determined to catch offenders and to prevent drivers causing harm to themselves and innocent members of the public So we are pleased that a dangerous driver has been taken off our roads.”
