NBA DFS: Top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy basketball picks for Tuesday, October 29 include Nikola Jokic

There may only be four games on the Tuesday NBA schedule, but some of the top stars in the league are in action. Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic, Anthony Edwards and Domantas Sabonis highlight the Tuesday NBA DFS player pool, and none of them will be cheap options to add to NBA DFS lineups. If you want to include one or two of the top players, you’ll need to form an NBA DFS strategy with some cheaper players with the potential to outperform their price tags on sites like FanDuel and DraftKings, so who could those options be this early into the 2024-25 NBA season?

Pelicans guard Jordan Hawkins is averaging 18 points and 6.3 rebounds in 30.3 minutes off the bench after averaging 7.8 points and 2.2 rebounds over 17.3 minutes in his rookie season, making him someone capable of outperforming his cheaper price tag. Who are other inexpensive players to consider for Tuesday NBA DFS lineups? Before making any NBA DFS picks, be sure to check out the NBA DFS advice, player rankings, stacks, and top daily Fantasy basketball picks from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.

McClure is a DFS professional with more than $2 million in career winnings. He’s also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account. This allows him to find the best NBA DFS values on sites like DraftKings and FanDuel and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They’re a must-see for any NBA DFS player.

On Monday, McClure highlighted Hawks point guard Trae Young as one of his top picks in his NBA DFS player pool on both sites. The result: Young had 14 points, eight rebounds, 13 assists, one steal and one block, returning 47 points on DraftKings and 43.1 points on FanDuel. Anybody who included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Top NBA DFS picks Tuesday, October 29

For Tuesday, one of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks is Nuggets center Jokic, who is listed at $11,300 on DraftKings and $11,600 on FanDuel. Jokic, who has won three of the last four NBA MVP awards, is coming off his second 40-point performance in three games this year. The 29-year-old had 40 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two blocks in a 127-125 overtime victory against the Raptors on Monday. This came two days after the reigning NBA MVP had 41 points and nine rebounds against the Clippers.

Jokic began the 2024-25 NBA season with a triple-double with 16 points, 12 rebounds and 13 assists in the season-opener after averaging 26.4 points, 12.4 rebounds and 9.0 assists per game last season. The Nuggets play the Nets on Tuesday and Jokic has recorded a triple-double in four of his last five games against Brooklyn.

Another part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes rostering Warriors guard Brandin Podziemski ($4,900 on DraftKings and $5,700 on FanDuel). The No. 19 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft has played 25 minutes in each game this season, and now with Stephen Curry (ankle) out, he could be asked to play even more and certainly to shoot more. He had 15 points on 7 of 14 shooting in the second game of the season before having four points, five rebounds and four assists on Sunday against the Clippers.

Podziemski has a proven track record of playing a larger role without Curry, averaging 14.4 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists in eight games last season without the two-time MVP. The Warriors are playing the Pelicans, who are coming off a 125-103 loss to the Trail Blazers on Sunday, and given the Warriors new-look lineup without Curry, Podziemski could easily outperform his price point for NBA DFS lineups. See McClure’s other NBA DFS picks right here.
