Do not travel warning issued on train line to London Stansted airport

The Circle line is seeing minor delays clockwise after a train broke down at Sloane Square in west London. Things are running smoothly anticlockwise, however.

Flights between the UK and Florida have been grounded as the US braces for the arrival of category five Hurricane Milton.

With delays riddling the Northern and Bakerloo lines, a track fault at Buckhurst Hill in east London is causing delays on the Central line Hainault and Woodford via Grange Hill.

On its website, Stansted Express advises the following two-hour route:

1. Travel on the Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines to Kings Cross St Pancras
2. Change for Great Northern services to Cambridge
3. Change for CrossCountry and Greater Anglia services to Stansted Airport

‘Regrettably, train services via Broxbourne are being disrupted due to a person hit by a train.

‘Train services will not be able to run between Broxbourne and London Liverpool Street. Please defer your journey and do not travel until later today.’

This is the message Stansted Express, a key train route between one of London’s major airports and the city, has just issued. Multiple upcoming trains have been cancelled, according to departure boards.

The A421 in Bedfordshire won’t be re-opening anytime soon after the stretch of road was swamped by floods last week.

Officials are carrying out a ‘complex clear up’ within the Marston Moretaine junction, with traffic being diverted from the exit slip roads at Marston Mortaine to the top of the junction to rejoin the A421 via the entry slip roads.

The chunk of the A421 has been closed since late September after a month’s worth of rain bucketed it down in less than 48 hours.

A vehicle fire is why some motorists on the M25 might see their journeys be half an hour longer than normal.

The incident has clogged cars anticlockwise between junctions 16 and 15. While the incident should be cleared up by officials by 7.45am, the traffic jams won’t until 8.30am.

This has led to a knockback of traffic on junctions 17 and 15.
