Various News – Perro Aguayo Jr, Rhino, NJPW Road To Sakura Genesis, MLW Battle Riot V

On March 22, Lucha Libre AAA paid tribute to the late Perro Aguayo Jr. on the anniversary of his passing. Perro Aguayo Jr. passed away in 2015 during a match in Tijuana at the age of 35. AAA tweeted out the following,

On Wednesday, MLW announced that Alex Hammerstone will defend the MLW World Heavyweight Championship against Real1 at the April 8th Battle Riot V event in Philadelphia, PA.

Major League Wrestling today announced a World Heavyweight Championship title fight: Alex Hammerstone(champion) vs. Real1 for Battle RIOT V when MLW returns to Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena on Saturday, April 8.

The trash talking “Certified G” looks to get gold as he bids to dethrone Alex Hammerstone and end his 535-day reign as champion in Philadelphia on April 8th.

Emerging as a top ranked competitor, with controversial clashes with Jacob Fatu and a recent high-profile win over Mance Warner, Real1 was the finalist in last year’s Battle RIOT, a match he continues to protest and claim he won.

Exhausting league officials politicking for a title fight, matchmakers have finally acquiesced.

Now that big bout is official as Hammerstone takes on a different type of challenger than any before. Known for his gift to gab, will Real1 get inside Hammerstone’s head with his trash talking?

Rhino has been working backstage at Impact Wrestling as well as an in-ring talent. Fightful Select reports that Rhino has begun working as a producer for the company.

New Japan Pro Wrestling has announced a couple of title matches for their Road To Sakura Genesis events on April 2nd and 3rd.

Shingo Takagi defending the KOPW Championship in an Ultimate Triad Match against Aaron Henare will be taking place on the April 2nd show.

On April 3rd, the team of Ren Narita, Minoru Suzuki, & El Desperado will defend the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Championships against EVIL, SHO, & Yujiro Takahashi.
