Roma v Internazionale Live Commentary & Result, 10/01/2021, Serie A |

10′ Roma are unbeaten in their last 12 home games in Serie A (W9 D3), their longest streak since February 2017 when they went 24 games without losing.

8′ Pellegrini pulls away from Vidal has space down the right and he curls a great cross into Karsdorp at the near post. He reaches it on the stretch but Handanovic comes off his line to collect it.

6′ It’s patient from Roma as they play out from the back and try to open up some space in behind Inter. Karsdorp cuts inside from the left and Veretout tries to pick him out with a throughball, but it’s cut out by Bastoni.

4′ Roma just can’t get a touch on the ball at the moment as Inter push forward again. Lukaku holds it up before the visitors switch it out to Darmian on the left. He can’t find any space for a cross though and they’re forced to go backwards.

2′ Martinez does really well to hold off Ibanez as he latches onto Bastoni’s throughball and he takes it to the byline on the right. He tries to play in Hakimi in the box, but his pass is cut out by Smalling.

1′ Vidal gets the game underway for Inter!

The teams are out on the pitch now, with kick-off just moments away.

Inter have won only one of their last 11 Serie A away games against Roma (D5 L5), winning 3-1 in August 2017 under Luciano Spalletti.

Antonio Conte makes just three changes to the team that started against Sampdoria. Lukaku returns from injury to come back into the starting line-up, with Vidal and Darmian also coming in. Young, Gagliardini and Sanchez start on the bench.

Paulo Fonseca makes four changes to the side that beat Crotone last time out as he brings in Spinzzola, Veretout, Pellegrini and Dzeko. Peres, Cristante, Perez and Mayoral drop to the bench.

INTER SUBS: Roberto Gagliardini, Ionut Radu, Alexis Sanchez, Daniele Padelli, Christian Eriksen, Stefano Sensi, Ashley Young, Ivan Perisic, Aleksandar Kolarov, Andrea Ranocchia.

INTER STARTING XI (3-5-2): Samir Handanovic; Milan Skriniar, Stefan de Vrij, Alessandro Bastoni; Achraf Hakimi, Nicolo Barella, Marcelo Brozovic, Arturo Vidal, Matteo Darmian; Lautaro Martinez, Romelu Lukaku.

ROMA SUBS: Bryan Cristante, Juan Jesus, Bruno Peres, Amadou Diawara, Ruben Providence, Marash Kumbulla, Daniel Fuzato, Borja Mayoral, Simone Farelli, Carles Perez, Suf Podgoreanu.

Inter have the chance to close the gap back to one point at the top of the table with a win today after Milan’s victory over Torino yesterday. They were on an eight-match winning streak in Serie A, but that was ended on Wednesday when they lost 2-1 to Sampdoria. They face a Roma side who have lost just one of their last seven league games (W6) but have won their last three outings.
