Super Bowl halftime show 2021: Who is performing in Super Bowl 55?

The Super Bowl halftime show is one of the biggest music events of the year. With a new artist every year, who will be singing on the NFL‘s biggest stage — the 2021 Pepsi Super Bowl halftime show?

Who is doing the Super Bowl halftime show in 2021?

In collaboration with Roc Nation, Pepsi announced The Weeknd will perform during the Pepsi Super Bowl LV Halftime Show on CBS at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, Fla. on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021.

The Weeknd is a Canadian artist whose real name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye. He is a Grammy Award-winner with three number one selling albums in the United States. This includes his latest album titled “After Hours,” which featured the hit song “Blinding Lights.”

Other top-charting songs from The Weeknd on the Billboard Hot 100 include “Love Me Harder” featuring Ariana Grande, “Earned It,” “Can’t Feel My Face,” “I Feel It Coming” featuring Daft Punk, “Pray For Me” featuring Kendrick Lamar, and “Smile” featuring Juice WRLD.

These massive hits helped him amass three Grammy Awards, five American Music Awards, and nine Billboard Music Awards.

Super Bowl 55 is the second-year that Roc Nation has helped produce

The halftime show is also being co-executive produced by Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter, who runs Roc Nation. His company also produced the 2020 show in Miami last year, which featured Jennifer Lopez and Shakira. Special guests Bad Bunny and J Balvin made appearances last year as well.

It has not been confirmed yet who will join The Weeknd on stage for the Super Bowl LV halftime show.

The Weeknd will not be the only talent who will perform during the 2021 Super Bowl LV

While The Weeknd takes the 2021 Super Bowl Halftime show stage, he isn’t the only artist we’ll see during the big game. Prior to kickoff, country star Eric Church and R&B singer Jazmine Sullivan will perform the National Anthem.

Also, Super Bowl 55 will have a first-time performance; a poet

The world of football and poetry will combine for the first time during Super Bowl LV. Amanda Gorman, the nation’s first-ever youth poet laureate who gained national praise at President Joe Biden’s inauguration, will recite an original poem before Super Bowl LV.

Gorman stole the show on what was arguably the most significant day in our nation’s history in several years. Her poem titled “The Hill We Climb” captivated the country as it addressed the current climate we find ourselves in today.

When does the halftime show start?

For those who love watching the Super Bowl halftime show to see who is singing, you might not want to set your clocks by a set time for the 2021 edition.

Kickoff of the Super Bowl is scheduled for 6:30 PM EST. However, the 2021 halftime show is at the mercy of the game clock. Given the typical length of an NFL game, the 2021 Super Bowl halftime show should begin at approximately 8:30 PM ET.

While the time is slightly uncertain, we do know The Weeknd will pull out all the stops for his performance. Widely recognized for his genre-bending music, he is well-known for his storytelling both lyrically and through visuals.

As Shakespeare once said, “All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players.” In a few short days, The Weeknd will find himself on the biggest stage in the world.
