Nets vs. Raptors: How to watch live stream, TV channel, NBA start time

Through 3 Quarters

The Toronto Raptors are flexing their muscles against the Brooklyn Nets, showing why they were favored to win all along. Three quarters in and the Raptors’ offense has really been able to impose its will, dominating Brooklyn 95-71 three quarters in.

Toronto has been led by power forward Scottie Barnes, who so far has dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 rebounds along with four steals. Those points put Barnes near his season high of 28. One thing to keep an eye out for is Chris Boucher’s foul situation as he currently sits at five.

Brooklyn has been relying on the performance of center LaMarcus Aldridge, who has 15 points.

This is the first time Toronto has been ahead going into the fourth quarter in the past five games.

What to Know

The Toronto Raptors haven’t won a contest against the Brooklyn Nets since April 21 of last year, but they’ll be looking to end the drought Monday. The Raptors are on the road again Monday and play against Brooklyn at 7:30 p.m. ET Feb. 28 at Barclays Center. If the game is anything like Brooklyn’s 131-129 victory from their previous meeting in December of last year, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.

Toronto has to be aching after a bruising 127-100 defeat to the Atlanta Hawks this past Saturday. Toronto was down 104-74 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. One thing holding Toronto back was the mediocre play of shooting guard Gary Trent Jr., who did not have his best game: he finished with only nine points on 3-for-10 shooting in his 30 minutes on the court.

Meanwhile, the Nets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 126-123 win over the Milwaukee Bucks this past Saturday. Brooklyn’s point guard Kyrie Irving did his thing and had 38 points and five assists along with five boards.

The Raptors are the favorite in this one, with an expected 3.5-point margin of victory. Now might not be the best time to take Toronto against the spread since they’ve let down bettors for the past two consecutive games.

Brooklyn’s win lifted them to 32-29 while Toronto’s loss dropped them down to 32-27. If Brooklyn want to win, they will need to focus on stopping Toronto’s center Precious Achiuwa, who had 21 points in addition to nine rebounds, and point guard Fred VanVleet, who had 24 points and nine assists. We’ll see whether or not they are up to the challenge.
