NBA DFS: Anthony Davis and top FanDuel, DraftKings daily Fantasy basketball picks for Feb. 5, 2022

With just over two weeks until the 2022 NBA All-Star Game, teams across the league have been trying to weather a packed schedule in an effort to get to the needed break. Meanwhile, NBA daily Fantasy players have had to work around key NBA injuries throughout the season while crafting their NBA DFS lineups. Kings guard De’Aaron Fox continues to sit because of a reported ankle injury and that’s opened the door for rookie guard Davion Mitchell.

Mitchell is averaging 19.4 points and 5.4 assists per game over his last five games as a starter and he’s still affordably priced at $5,300 on DraftKings and $5,900 on FanDuel. Can he continue to make the most of his minutes and, if so, who else in the NBA DFS player pool should you be targeting with the funds you’ve saved by selecting Mitchell? Before making any NBA DFS picks for Saturday, be sure to check out the NBA DFS advice, player rankings, stacks and top daily Fantasy basketball picks from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.

McClure is a DFS professional with nearly $2 million in career winnings. He’s also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account.

This allows him to find the best NBA DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They’re a must-see for any NBA DFS player.

On Friday, McClure included Pacers guard Caris LeVert as one of his top NBA DFS picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. The result: LeVert had a massive night with 42 points, eight assists and five rebounds to return 59.25 points on DraftKings and 57 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, McClure has turned his attention to the Saturday, February 5, NBA DFS slate and locked in his top daily Fantasy basketball picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.

Top NBA DFS picks for Saturday, February 5

One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for Saturday is Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons, who is listed at $6,600 on DraftKings and $6,500 on FanDuel. Simons is a proven scorer off the bench but the 22-year-old who is already in his fourth season in the NBA has taken on a larger role with Damian Lillard (abdominal) out indefinitely.

Simons has slid into the starting lineup and put up impressive numbers, averaging 20.6 points and 5.9 assists while shooting 45.1 percent from the floor and 39.8 percent from the 3-point line as a starter. Simons has gotten up at least 14 shots in each of his last 10 games so he’s a good bet to get up plenty of shots at home against the Bucks on Saturday night.

Another part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes rostering Lakers forward Anthony Davis at $10,100 on DraftKings and $10,500 on FanDuel. It’s been an incredibly frustrating year for the Lakers and Davis has faced plenty of criticism because of his inability to dominate alongside LeBron James and Russell Westbrook, but Davis has found his rhythm of late.

On Wednesday, Davis had 30 points, 15 rebounds and three blocked shots in a win over Portland and then he followed that up with 30 points, 17 rebounds and two blocks in a loss to the Clippers on Thursday. Davis is averaging 23.6 points and 9.9 rebounds per game this season and you’ll want to ride the hot hand on Saturday as the Lakers take on the Knicks with James (knee) doubtful.

How to set your NBA DFS lineups for Saturday, February 5

McClure is also targeting a player who could go off for massive numbers on Saturday because of a dream matchup. This pick could be the difference between winning your tournaments and cash games or going home with nothing. You can only see who it is here.
