Woman sobs in court accused of killing couple in crash

A woman accused of causing the death of two people by dangerous driving as well as causing serious injury to a child cried as she appeared in court.
Laila Wigley is charged with causing the deaths of Dean Yarrow and Faye Wardle on May 7, 2021.
The 25-year-old is also accused of causing serious injury to a child.
Mr Yarrow, 33, was driving a Peugeot 2008, with his girlfriend, Ms Wardle, 32, as a passenger, along with a child who was in a child seat, when Ms Wigley’s Mercedes collided head-on with their car on the A165, reports Hull Live.
Ms Wigley appeared before Hull magistrates in connection with the accident and the case was sent to Hull Crown Court.
Ms Wigley was not asked to enter pleas to the three charges.
Emily Robinson, prosecuting, said the collision happened at 3.28pm on the A165 at Bridlington, near the junction of Grindale Road crossroads.
The child, who cannot be named for legal reasons, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Mr Yarrow and Miss Wardle died at the scene from their injuries.
Ms Wigley, of Thoresby Avenue, Bridlington, was allowed unconditional bail until her first appearance at Hull Crown Court in April.
She sobbed as she confirmed that she understood the next stage of the case.
She was represented by barrister Kristina Goodwin for a Leeds law firm.
Three women and two men representing the bereaved families were in the public gallery for the hearing, as well as two police officers.
Five supporters of Ms Wigley were also in court.
