Woman charged with murdering father-of-six on Christmas Day
A 33-year-old woman has been charged with murdering a father-of-six on Christmas Day.
Police were called to a report of a man in cardiac arrest in Norton Canes, Staffordshire, at about 3.25am on Wednesday.
They said despite medical efforts, he died a short time later.
Staffordshire Police said Kirsty Carless, 33, has been charged with murdering 31-year-old Louis Price.
It comes the day after his family paid tribute, describing him as a “well-loved” and “well-known member of the community”.
They said he “always had time for anyone and would help anyone he could”.
“As a family we are devastated at losing Louis. Life will never be the same without him, he leaves a huge hole in the lives of everyone who knew him.
“Christmas is a time we have always spent together as a family, to lose Louis at this time is even harder.”
Mr Price is survived by his parents, brother, sister and his six children.
Carless is due to appear at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Saturday.
Police previously confirmed that a referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) following recent contact.
Anyone with information that may help police with their inquiries has been asked to contact the force.
