Which patronages will Prince Harry and Meghan Markle return to The Queen?

Buckingham Palace has confirmed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are to give up their remaining royal patronages.

In a statement released Friday, February 19, a palace spokesperson said that The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not be returning as working members of The Royal Family.

It read: ‘Following conversations with The Duke, The Queen has written confirming that in stepping away from the work of The Royal Family it is not possible to continue with the responsibilities and duties that come with a life of public service.’

So, which patronages will Harry and Meghan lose and return to The Queen?

Which royal patronages have Harry and Meghan returned?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal patronages are all to be handed back, including Meghan’s widely-publicised National Theatre patronage.

Prince Harry’s honorary military appointments are also now being returned.

These include:

  • The Royal Marines
  • RAF Honington
  • Royal Navy Small Ships and Diving
  • The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust
  • The Rugby Football Union
  • The Rugby Football League
  • The Royal National Theatre
  • The Association of Commonwealth Universities.
