The incredibly gorgeous UK seaside city named Britain’s best winter break

A little staycation is always a good idea around the Christmas season, and a new study has revealed just the place where you should be looking to book.

The Scottish capital has been named the best spot in the UK for a winter break, according to a study by Hot Tub Breaks.

The UK holiday experts measured the country’s towns and cities against hotel prices, affordability of local restaurants, Instagram popularity and even the average snowfall during winter.

The factors received a score out of 10, and then the areas were given an overall score out of 100.

Edinburgh came out on top, scoring an incredible 63.7 out of 100.

Edinburgh is full of historic sites, and their beauty is truly enhanced during the colder weather. The city’s Old and New Towns have both been listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites, which emphasises the city’s rich history and culture.

Celebrations continue right into the new year in Edinburgh with a huge Hogmanay Street Party with artists taking centre stage.
