Prince Harry and William both visited ‘racy’ nightclub but behaved differently
The founder of a nightclub favoured by the likes of Prince Harry and Prince William has said the two princes behaved very differently when they visited his establishment.
Founder of the famous Chelsea venue, which is set to reopen two years after its original closure, Giorgio Burlo told the Daily Mail that the royal duo behaved very differently when it came to navigating his club.
He said: “’Harry came a few times. He walked around, talked to people. William was serious. He was sitting there, in a corner. He behaved like a Prince – like someone who would one day be king.”
The revelation about the behaviour of the princes comes just days after comedian Ricky Gervais revealed that the pair had not paid for tickets to one of his shows when he performed in London.
The actor and The Office creator told the Stick to Football podcast that the pair, alongside Madonna and Paul McCartney, had not paid to see him when he performed at the Apollo.
Ricky said: “Once at a gig, I think it was Hammersmith Apollo, at the back was Harry and William, Madonna and Paul McCartney, not one of them paid. What money have they got between them that lot? Unbelievable.”
Whilst he was critical of William and Harry, he also spoke a little about what it was like to talk to the two young princes behind the scenes and the surprising offer made to him by the now Duke of Sussex.
He said that Harry had asked him to go Afghanistan, specifically Basra, to perform for the soldiers there. In response Ricky admitted that he “panicked” and decided against the manoeuvre.
What’s more, Ricky admitted that Harry later teased him by sending a text saying he would bring his “gran”, the late Queen Elizabeth II.
He recalled: “Hammersmith was great… Had a drink after the show with Chris Martin and Prince Harry. As you do. Harry was trying to persuade me to come to Afghanistan to perform to the troops. I said I was too scared.
“He said I could do Basra, which was the safest place. Yeah, the safest place out of all the other places in a war zone… I take risks with my comedy, not my vital organs.
“I said I’d think about it. On the day of the gig he wound me up by sending me a text saying that he was bringing his gran. I was obviously a bit panicked.”
Whilst a lot has changed for both Ricky and Harry since those comedy gigs in the 2000s – including both spending more time in the USA – royal experts have suggested Harry could be planning a move because he misses his former home.
One royal commentator – Duncan Larcombe – has said that whilst Harry is now richer than he was, that he is missing his life in the UK.
He explained: “He is now richer than he was, even more famous and surrounded by celebrity hangers-on rather than the group of trusted people who called friends.”
Mr. Larcombe said that as a result of his position, Harry faces a poignant dilemma: “No matter how he might try to protest, Harry will be missing his family and friends back in Britain and will be heartbroken that his children are being brought up without knowing the relatives he left behind.”
