A mum married her lover and had his baby while already being married to her husband who she has two children with.

Brinda Kantamanen, 42, had been with her husband Ravi for 18 years when she married her lover in October 2017. Now, Ravi has taken his wife to court over her double life.

Kantamanen falsified part of her name when she married Matthew Hall, 45, at Ealing Town Hall in West London, only a short walk from her house with Ravi and their two children.

The lovers and their baby also lived just three minutes away from the Kantamanen home, The Mirror reported.

Kantamanen managed to hide her pregnancy from Ravi until the ‘sad and distraught’ husband found out about the second marriage in December 2017.

Ravi, a director for an international consultancy firm, said that before he discovered his wife’s secret life, he would question her about how much time she spent away from home.

But ‘she either turned on the charm and became affectionate or threatened suicide’, Ravi told Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court.

‘I find it difficult to trust anyone. My parents loved the defendant and treated her like a daughter, her actions have left them distraught and worried,’ Ravi said.

Kantamanen pleaded guilty to bigamy – the illegal act of entering into a marriage while still in another – last week.

The court told the computer consultant they would have to consider custody of her children.

If Kantamanen, who now lives in Guildford, Surrey, is handed the maximum sentence for bigamy she will be behind bars for seven years.

Kantamanen and Ravi got married in May 1999 in North Carolina before enjoying a traditional Indian wedding later that year. Their marriage was officially dissolved in 2019.

Kantamanen will be sentenced on May 28.

All three parties declined The Mirror’s requests to comment.
