Meghan and Harry planning more ‘fake royal tours’ around world, expert claims

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are aiming to go to places such as Australia, Japan and other parts of the United States after visiting New York, a royal expert claims

Meghan and Harry recently visited New York

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are planning to carry out more “fake royal tours” next year and could head further afield to places such as Australia, a royal expert claims.

The Sussexes travelled to New York last September for their first official outing together since the birth of their daughter Lilibet in June, and critics have questioned what their new role has become since breaking away from the Royal Family.

The couple were hosted by the city’s mayor Bill de Blasio, attending local landmarks including the One World Trade Center as well calling for vaccine equity at the Global Citizen Live concert event.

But, with the pair no longer taking on royal duties since March last year, some commentators pointed out the trip’s resemblance to a royal engagement.

Now, speaking on his YouTube channel, royal commentator Neil Sean has claimed that more of these engagements are on the horizon, reported the Daily Star.

“According to a very good source, Harry and Meghan are planning even more, shall we say, ‘fake royal tours’ in 2022,” he suggested.

“Apparently they are looking to tour Australia, Japan and back to certain areas of the United States.”

Sean suggested that Harry and Meghan are “not that popular right now” and that “maybe they’re hoping to reignite their once popularity in far-flung places.”

As well as supposedly taking these trips overseas, next year will see the release of Harry’s “tell-all” autobiography, which has reportedly worried Buckingham Palace over what details might be included in the book.

Announcing the project in July, the prince said that the memoir will be “a first hand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful.”

And Sean suggested the plans for trips to new territories might offer the chance for Harry to promote his book.

Meanwhile, no plans have yet been announced for when the Sussexes might return to the UK for the Queen to meet her great-granddaughter Lilibet after the baby girl was born in California.
