Manhunt launched after woman ‘murdered’ in ‘targeted attack’

A manhunt is underway after a woman was killed in what is being treated as a ‘targeted attack’.

Police were called to a property in Luton shortly before lunchtime on Monday following reports of an altercation.

One woman, aged 46, later died in hospital. Another, in her 20s, was injured in the incident.

Detectives have issued an image of Jacob Clark, 25, from Luton, along with a CCTV still taken near the scene in Turners Road North.

Detective Inspector Adam Bridges, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: ‘We are currently carrying out numerous lines of inquiry in relation to this murder.

‘In particular, we are actively seeking Jacob Clark, who is from Luton.

‘We understand Jacob to have close cropped hair which may mean he looks different from the image provided.

‘We have also issued a CCTV still from near the scene of the incident.’

The first picture said to be of Mr Clark shows a man with long hair wearing a dark, patterned bandana.

In the image taken near the incident a man can be seen walking along a path wearing a black jacket with the hood up and dark trousers.

Detectives previously said they are searching for a white man in his 20s who was seen leaving the scene at the time of the incident.

He was described as being between 5ft 9in and 5ft 10in and of very slim build, with a shaved head, and was wearing all-black clothing with a hood.

The suspect left the scene on a black and red electric scooter which was later recovered by police.

DI Bridges said: ‘This is a murder investigation, and as such I would urge anyone who knows where Jacob is to contact police immediately.

‘If you believe you have seen him, please do not approach him and dial 999 straight away.

‘I would like to remind the public that we are treating this as a targeted attack and we are maintaining a high police presence in the area for additional reassurance.’
