Georgia cops say probe of crash involving Loeffler aide could take ‘some time’

It will take “some time” to learn what led to the three-car crash that killed a 20-year-old aide to Sen. Kelly Loeffler Georgia police told The Post Saturday.

Harrison Deal, a young aide for Loeffler and a former intern for Sen. David Perdue, was killed Friday in the fiery wreck on 1-16 in Pooler, Ga. outside Savannah.

“The investigation is underway and may take some time,” according to Pooler police spokeswoman Lindsey Heintzman, who initially said the investigation could take over a month, without elaborating.

There were only three people involved in the crash, each driving one of the vehicles. The other two drivers were treated at the scene for minor injuries and released, Heintzman said.

Deal, a student at the University of Georgia, was also a close family friend of Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp — who called him a “Kemp son and brother we never had.”

Deal was rumored to be dating Kemp’s 19-year-old daughter, Lucy, also a University of Georgia student. Sweet photos of the two appear on both his and her Facebook pages. Kemp’s office would not immediately confirm that the two were dating.

Deal graduated from Bulloch Academy in Statesboro, Ga., where he grew up.

His father, Curt Deal, is a funeral home owner who’s also Bulloch County commissioner, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Deal got his start in politics working for his dad’s campaign and the two appeared inseparable.

“Like the sign says, he’s the most honest, dependable, and experienced candidate on the ballot!!” Deal wrote about his dad on Facebook.
