If you’re watching the Emmys and you haven’t seen Schitt’s Creek, you’re probably getting the idea that it might be a pretty good show. The Roses and their pals made a clean sweep of the comedy series prizes, with Eugene Levy winning Outstanding Lead Actor, Catherine O’Hara winning Outstanding Lead Actress, Dany Levy taking Supporting Actor, and Annie Murphy earning a Supporting Actress award. To top it all off, the show won Outstanding Comedy Series—that’s not even mentioning the writing and directing awards it’s also won.
If you’re looking for an introduction to the series, you can catch up with most of the action on Netflix, where Seasons One through Five are all available. But great though they are, those aren’t the seasons that are winning big tonight—it’s the show’s sixth and final season that is taking home all the gold. And though Schitt’s Creek wrapped up its run on Pop TV this spring, that last season isn’t available on Netflix just yet.
Well, not in the US: Lucky folks are already watching in countries like Australia, South Africa, Japan, and Britain. But it looks like American fans will be able to catch up on the last season pretty soon. During his appearance on the web series Hot Ones, Dan Levy revealed that Season Six will be on Netflix next month.
“I am celebrating the end of our show,” he said. “It still has to drop on Netflix in October, which is very exciting.”
Now, there’s still no confirmation on exactly when in October the show will drop, but judging by earlier seasons’ Netflix debut dates, it’s likely early in the month—so there isn’t too long to wait at all.
