Lady Gaga has quit smoking—but it sure as hell wasn’t easy.
During an interview with New Music Daily with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, Lady Gaga said, “I’m not smoking anymore, but I’d smoke 40 cigarettes all day long.” The A Star Is Born actress continued, offering some advice: “I completely quit—I quit cold turkey. But it was so hard. If you don’t smoke, don’t smoke! Because quitting is worse. It is so brutal. And I will never smoke again because I think I saw Jesus for an entire week. It was so awful.”
The superstar was adamant that she no longer smokes, at all: “I swear on my life I’m not smoking cigarettes.” Gaga is heralding in an entirely new era, and it’s smoke-free.
Last month, Gaga announced her role in Todd Phillips’s Joker sequel, Joker: Folie à Deux, which will land in late 2024. Please, Todd Phillips, have enough restraint to not reprise the staircase dance with Gaga’s Harley Quinn at the Joker’s side.
