Honkai: Star Rail – How To Get & Use Wishful Resin

Getting and using Wishful Resin in Honkai: Star Rail has become an important part of players’ continued maintenance as of Version 3.0, the update in which the new item type has been introduced. Wishful Resin was added to the turn-based RPG by HoYoverse alongside Variable Dice, a new important type of item for optimizing character builds. While Variable Dice allows you to randomly redistribute enhancements applied to sub-stats on level Relics and Ornaments, Wishful Resin allows you to have a better chance while crafting. This is because Wishful Resin works alongside the valuable Self-Modeling Resin in Honkai: Star Rail.

When crafting Relics and Ornaments, you use Self-Modeling Resin to define the piece’s main stat. Now, you can also define up to two sub-stats while crafting a Relic or Ornament, and this is thanks to the introduction of Wishful Resin. Overall, Wishful Resin comes to complement the larger crafting system that was initiated with the Self-Modeling Resin and, along with the Variable Dice in Honkai: Star Rail, you have a better chance than ever to fully optimize their character builds and obtain the best stats and stat upgrades for their playable units – provided they know where to look.

How To Get Wishful Resin

There Are F2P & Premium Methods Of Obtaining The Item In Honkai: Star Rail

There are several different methods of obtaining Wishful Resin, though the game limits how much you can obtain from F2P (free-to-play) sources every patch. One of the most straightforward methods of obtaining the new item is to reach level 50 in the Nameless Honor battle pass. This is available in the F2P track for all players who are capable of maxing out the system. Those who purchase the premium version of the battle pass in Honkai: Star Rail have a chance of claiming an extra Wishful Resin once they reach level 20.

Honkai Star Rail 3.1 Leaks: Herta’s Store May Get A Much-Needed F2P Update

A new F2P 5-star Light Cone has been leaked for Honkai: Star Rail, showing that Herta’s Store will receive an exciting new update in the patch.

Another consistent F2P way to obtain Wishful Resin is to use the Omni-Synthesizer. In the Material Synthesis feature, you can transform one Self-Modeling Resin into one Wishful Resin. No other resources are needed for this operation, but you can only make this type of synthesis thrice per month. Alternatively, you can also transform 800 Relic Remains into one Wishful Resin. Similar to the method involving Self-Modeling Resin but even more restricted, you can only repeat this process in the Omni-Synthesizer twice per month.

The best way of obtaining Relic Remains is to salvage 5-star Relics in Honkai: Star Rail or to purchase them from the Jokes Come True store (which refreshes every 42 days).

If you want to circumvent the limitations imposed on the F2P methods of getting Wishful Resin, you can look into premium options. Both The Herta Contract products in the store (Strategic Cooperation and Strategic Support) can grant you extra Wishful Resin. These bundles must be obtained with Oneiric Shards, a currency that can only be obtained with real-life money. You can buy up to two Strategic Cooperation bundles per patch, while Strategic Support bundles can be purchased up to five times every update in Honkai: Star Rail.

HoYoverse has announced that you will also be able to obtain Wishful Resin from limited-time events, much like how Self-Modeling Resin can be obtained.

Consume The Item To Craft Relics & Ornaments

Using Wishful Resin is just as easy as using Self-Modeling Resin, but it doesn’t work on its own. In fact, you will need to have Self-Modeling Resin to craft a Relic piece and, in the process, consume Wishful Resin. To start doing this, you should open your Omni-Synthesizer and go to the Relic crafting feature. There, you will select the piece you want to create and use the Customized Synthesis feature, which will allow you to select the piece’s main stat using your Self-Modeling Resin. It’s important to remember you need Relic Remains to craft Relics in Honkai: Star Rail.

Honkai Star Rail 3.1 Leaks: Should You Save Pulls For Mydei Or Tribbie?

Mydei and Tribbie are the confirmed 5-star characters arriving in Honkai: Star Rail 3.1 and leaks have provided details about their kits.

The game will allow you to select up to two sub-stats for the Relic you are crafting. If you only desire to specify one sub-stat, only one Wishful Resin will be consumed and if you are specifying both possible sub-stats, you will need to consume four Wishful Resin. Once all stats are selected, you must confirm and then craft the Relic piece you desire. The other two sub-stats the piece will gain will always be randomized, either during crafting or when leveling your Relic in Honkai: Star Rail.

The sub-stats you can choose when consuming Wishful Resin are: HP (Flat), HP%, ATK (Flat), ATK%, DEF (Flat), DEF%, SPD (Flat), CRIT Rate%, CRIT DMG%, Break Effect%, Effect Res%, and Effect Hit%.

Overall, Wishful Resin is not a guarantee that your crafted Relic or Ornament will be great for your character. As you level up the piece, there is a chance that it will gain undesired sub-stats and that these will be leveled instead of your preferred sub-stats – and that’s where Variable Dice comes into play. Even though the RNG (random number generator) factor of the Relic system is still punitive, there are ways of mitigating it and crafting optimal pieces to further enhance your character builds in Honkai: Star Rail and Wishful Resin is one of them.
