Mention of the Noel Clarke drama Viewpoint appeared to have been ‘cut’ from an interview with one of it’s stars, Catherine Tyldesley, this weekend.
Actor Noel, 45, who starred alongside Catherine in the five-part series, was hit with a slew of sexual misconduct allegations midway through the ITV drama’s run.
The allegations prompted ITV to pull the final episode from the TV schedule over the ‘very serious allegations’ with an interview with Catherine Tyldesley days later also appearing to have been edited.
Former Coronation Street actress Catherine appeared on ITV’s Martin and Roman Kemp’s Weekend Best on Saturday but there was no mention of Viewpoint during the chat.
Catherine, 37, has been doing the rounds of a number of TV shows this week to promote her first big acting job since leaving Corrie.
However, as her interview with the Kemps aired this weekend, no mention of the show was made.
On Friday ITV announced they had made the decision to pull the dramatic conclusion to Viewpoint from the TV schedule.
The broadcaster said in a statement the episode would only be available on the ITV Hub and for a ‘limited time’ so that invested fans had the opportunity to see the series end.
An ITV spokesperson said: “ITV has a zero tolerance policy to bullying, harassment and victimisation and robust procedures in place to investigate and deal with any complaints. We strongly believe that everyone deserves to work in a supportive and safe environment.”
It followed the publication of a Guardian investigation, where 20 women accused actor and director Clarke of misconduct.
Clarke said he ‘vehemently denies any sexual misconduct or wrongdoing.’
One of his Viewpoint co-stars, Alexandra Roach broke her silence on the claims against Clarke.
Alexandra shared a broken heart emoji to Twitter and penned : “I see you. I hear you. I believe you.
“Thank you to the women for your incredible bravery in coming forward and helping to put a stop to this kind of behaviour in our industry.”
She added: “Sending a big hug to all the cast and crew who worked so very hard on Viewpoint.”
Alexandra finished up her message by reminding fans how they could catch the end of the series on the ITV hub.
