Travis Kelce Shares Which Taylor Swift Song He’s ‘Learned’ to Love
Travis Kelce is sharing more details about his favorite Taylor Swift songs.
“‘Death By a Thousand Cuts’ is one that I’ve learned to absolutely love,” Travis, 35, said during a bonus episode of his “New Heights” podcast, released on Thursday, November 28. “I’ve watched Tay’s [2019 NPR] Tiny Desk and she played it on that one and that’s where I think I fell in love with it.”
He and brother Jason Kelce answered fan questions for the special Thanksgiving installment, and one caller wondered which of Swift’s songs the brothers could listen to for the rest of their lives.
“Favorite song? I mean, ‘Blank Space’ is a song that I’ll always listen to, forever,” Travis said. “It’s just unbelievable. Everything about it.”
Jason, 37, said that was a “nice” answer. Travis continued to throw some “new” song titles out for the listeners.
“I mean, ‘The Alchemy.’ Can’t go wrong with that one. That one’s a banger,” he added. “Or ‘So High School,’ I mean, who doesn’t like the feelings that gives you? And ‘Cowboy Like Me’ is another good one. Really big fan of ‘Cowboy Like Me.’” (Both “The Alchemy” and “So High School” are rumored to be inspired by Travis.)
Jason said that his brother had “all good” picks before sharing his favorite Swift bop.
“Everybody knows mine is ‘I Can Do It With a Broken Heart’ so I’m not even gonna go through all of her incredible hits,” the retired football player said. “I think it just stops right there for me.”
Travis and Swift went public with their romance in September 2023 and have been publicly supporting each other ever since. This is hardly the first time that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end shared his most listened to Swift songs.
While on the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast earlier this year, Travis mentioned the 1989 song “Blank Space” — which Swifties have come to know as his favorite song. At the time, the NFL star noted that he “really started listening to Taylor’s music” after she released the album in 2014. “Dude, it’s a banger,” he said of the tune.
The second song he named was “Cruel Summer” from Swift’s Lover album before talking about how it’s “one of the ones she opens with at her [Eras] show.”
“When she comes out [on stage], it’s just f—in’ electric in the stadium. And she goes into an absolute banger like that,” Travis said during the June podcast episode. “I was fired up when that happened [at] the first show I was ever at.”
Lastly, he noted that “So High School” from The Tortured Poets Department is a special one for him.
“It’s got a little bit of a sentimental meaning, I guess,” he said, before referencing the song’s lyrics. “You know how to ball, I know Aristotle.”
