Taylor Swift’s fans have gone wild after spotting the date that her rerecorded breakthrough album Fearless will be released.
The 31-year-old songstress will release a single, Love Story (Taylor’s Version) on Thursday evening, with the full extended album Fearless (Taylor’s Version) to follow.
The move comes after Taylor become embroiled in a feud with music manager Scooter Braun after Big Machine Label Group sold her music to his company in 2019.
To take back control of her music, Taylor then announced plans to rerecord her first six albums.
Sharing the news on Twitter, she wrote: “I’m thrilled to tell you that my new version of Fearless (Taylor’s Version) is done and will be with you soon.
“It has 26 songs including 6 never before released songs from the vault.
“Love Story (Taylor’s Version) will be out tonight.”
The singer also shared a lengthy heartfelt note, which teased some hidden information about the album’s highly-anticipated release date.
Eagle-eyed fans noticed a couple of letters in each sentence were in capitals, and one user clicked on that it read: “APR NINTH.”
If the secret letters are anything to go by, Taylor’s new album will be coming out in two months’ time.
Fans went crazy over the message, with one writing: “THERE’S A HIDDEN MESSAGE OMG.”
“YOU DID NOT JUST WRITE THAT WHOLE THING AND ADD A SECRET MESSAGE GOD YOURE TAKING ME BACK,” another commented.
A third shared: “GUYS SECRET MESSAGE IS ‘APRIL NINTH’ AHHHHHH.”
And a fourth joked: “It’s the capital letters for me.”
In the new album, she revisits the iconic songs about her first love, heartbreak and friendship – which she originally wrote between the age of 16 and 18.
Fan favourites include Fearless, White Horse, You Belong With Me and Fifteen.
In a statement, she said: “I’ve spoken a lot about why I’m remaking my first six albums, but the way I’ve chosen to do this will hopefully help illuminate where I’m coming from.
“Artists should own their own work for so many reasons, but the most screamingly obvious one is that the artist is the only one who really *knows* that body of work.
“This process has been more fulfilling and emotional than I could’ve imagined and has made me even more determined to re-record all of my music.”
Taylor recently lifted the lid on her plans during a TV appearance.
She said on Good Morning America: “I’ve decided to add songs from the vault, which are songs that almost made the original Fearless album, but I’ve now gone back and recorded those so that everyone will be able to hear not only the songs that made the album but the songs that almost made it – the full picture.”
