The measures last year were in place to help limit the risk of a Covid-19 outbreak.
And while the vaccine has meant rules could be relaxed to more normal levels for the 2021 series, the Covid pandemic has nonetheless caused chaos on the show.
There has been behind-the-scenes fury after it emerged three of the professional dancers have reportedly refused to get vaccinated.
While this Saturday’s show will see McFly star Tom Fletcher and dance partner Amy Dowden absent from the show after they tested positive for Covid – despite being vaccinated against the virus.
They are expected to return to the show the following week.
Last year, Olympic boxer Nicola Adams and professional dancer Katya Jones made Strictly history as they were the first ever same sex couple to participate in the show.
Unfortunately they were forced to quit the contest on week three after one of them tested positive for Covid as the contest was filmed before the vaccine had been approved and distributed across the UK.
