The singers have announced that they have “decided to end our romantic relationship” but insist it was an amicable split.
The 23-year-old Canadian and the former Fifth Harmony singer, 24, released a joint statement on Wednesday night to confirm their separation.
They told their fans: “Hey guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever.
“We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends.”
They ended their announcement with a message of gratitude to their supporters: “We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward.”
The statement was shared on the social media accounts of both stars.
The duo had been pals for five years before taking the romantic leap in July 2019.
They released their song Senorita together at the same time and celebrated their two-year anniversary together earlier in the year.
The pair looked very much still loved-up during their performance at Global Citizen Live in New York in September as they shared a kiss on stage.
At Halloween Shawn also shared a snap to Instagram of the couple in fancy dress as they looked amazing as a skeleton guitarist and his bedazzled dancer in matching folklorico outfits.
He captioned the post: “Feliz día de los muertos,” which translates to Happy Day of the Dead.
They were last publicly spotted together on November 3 as they enjoyed a relaxing trip to the beach in Miami, Florida.
Camila and Shawn moved to Miami during the coronavirus pandemic to be closer to the songstress’s family.
She had previously described how her relationship with the Treat You Better singer had helped her learn a lot about herself.
In a past Instagram post, she stated he makes her feel “braver, wiser, and better”.
She wrote at the time: “When you’re in a relationship with someone, it feels like they are this mirror reflecting yourself back to you—I constantly have to confront my fears, my anxieties, my insecurities, my patterns of thinking, my beliefs about life and about myself.
“It’s not as simple as it looks in pictures sometimes. sometimes, it’s messy and uncomfortable and ugly lol. But there’s nothing like the pull, the FORCE that is love.”
She also admitted in October that the pair had went to counselling sessions to try to improve their relationship, but were able to do so as they “trust each other so much”.
