Sex and the City might be returning minus Kim Cattrall, but the original series may have been slightly different if original cast bookings had gone to plan.
The blonde bombshells were cast to play neighbours of 64-year-old Kim’s iconic character Samantha Jones – but they failed to turn up for their first day of filming.
Opening up about their casting, and subsequent no-show, 37-year-old Nicky says she and 39-year-old sister Paris now deeply regret not being part of the blockbuster TV series.
Baring her soul on Kate and Oliver Hudson’s podcast, Sibling Revelry, Nicky explained: “We were cast in Sex And The City.
“We were going to be Samantha Jones’ new neighbours in the Meatpacking district.
“Paris and I were in LA and we didn’t get on the flight to shoot Sex And The City.”
Failing to catch their flight meant the sisters failed to feature in the show – and they didn’t even apologise for their no-show.
Nicky continued: “Not only did we not show up, we were so scared that we didn’t even call.”
Admitting her remorse, the Hilton hotel heiress added: “It’s one of the biggest regrets ever, as I was so obsessed with the show.”
The ladies could be able to make up for lost time now that Sex and The City is being revived.
Earlier this month, HBO confirmed that a new 10 part sequel series will be begin filming – with original stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis all returning to revise their roles as Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York respectively.
Fans of the series are apprehensive about the return of the show without fan-favourite Samantha Jones – played by Kim.
Many have expressed the series will be simply “and The City” without the landmark character who was famous for enjoying sex throughout the entire series and the two spin-off films.
