Nick Viall’s Wife Natalie Jokes About Parking at Crystal Minkoff Party
Nick Viall was vicariously living through his wife, Natalie Joy, when she scored an invitation to Crystal Kung Minkoff’s star-studded holiday party.
“Last night I was on a man-date with my friend Peter, we went to watch Adam Ray’s show and we were getting play-by-play from Natalie,” Viall, 44, said during the Thursday, December 5, episode of his eponymous “Viall Files” podcast. “I was, like, at a comedy show checking my phone like, ‘What’s going on at the party?’”
During the episode, Joy, 25, detailed the occasion from the party favors, guest list and more.
“She gave away diamonds, so we all walked away with Tacori diamonds, which I will be at the next dinner,” Joy quipped. “Hopefully, it’ll be like, ‘You get an Aspen house! You Get a Tulum house!’ Hopefully, we get a beach house or something.”
While Joy had a great time at the bash, she noticed one major flaw.
“There should have been valet,” Joy lamented. “She had diamonds, but no valet. Me and MJ [Javid] and maybe Scheana [Shay] were all saying how we’re gonna talk about how she didn’t have valet on [our] podcasts because we all three struggled with the parking situation and I think all of the other women were Ubering, which was smart.”
After Joy eventually found a parking spot down the street, she walked into Kung Minkoff’s house and greeted the hostess. Joy quickly noticed the guest list also included Tamra Judge and Heather Dubrow.
“I’m a little, just, on edge [at this point] because I’m like, ‘I wonder if they’ve heard, what they think,’” Joy added, referring to past “Viall Files” criticism of Judge’s Real Housewives of Orange County actions. “Then we run into Kristen [Taekman] from RHONY and I said, ‘You look so familiar.’”
Javid, 52, later made her own entrance, carrying a “money tree” as a hostess gift for Kung Minkoff, 41, and her husband, Lion King creator Rob Minkoff.
“I didn’t bring a gift, but I did make it clear to Crystal that it was left on our dining room table — when nothing was on our dining room table,” Joy said. “I didn’t know; I didn’t think about it. … [I was planning to] just tell her, ‘New baby, forgot.’”
Joy and the Housewives eventually migrated into the backyard for dinner. The “Viall Files” podcast cohost was seated beside Judge, 57, and Paula Abdul.
“[It] was lit with, like, tall candles, flowers everywhere, diamonds everywhere and I was like, ‘No, perfect,’” Joy recalled. “Also, what is draped over my chair is, like, this mink rob because it’s a little chilly out. She was thinking of everyone.”
The story continued to impress Viall, with whom Joy shares 9-month-old daughter River, and the former Bachelor gushed that the party sounded “first class.”
“They served the most incredible meal,” Joy continued, noting the food itself “made up for the lack of valet” services. “The first thing they served was, like, a shaved Brussels sprouts salad and then some eggplants, some squash. Then, some vodka pasta, some salmon. It was very good [and] then some chicken. And then, before the dessert came, Crystal stood up and gave a little speech.”
In Kung Minkoff’s speech, she revealed her diamond party favors to which all of the attendees “squealed” in delight.
“Then sitting along the table was a massive, 9-carat diamond ring that me and Tamra might have put in our shoe — once or twice — to walk out with,” Joy admitted. “But, we did return it. I think that should be a Christmas gift [from Nick]. It was nine carats; absolutely massive. It was stunning.”
