Pauley Perrette shared a heartbreaking message urging fans to get vaccinated following her dad’s death from Covid – and she was supported by her former NCIS co-star Brian Dietzen.
The pair played special agents Jimmy Palmer and Abby Sciuto who had each others backs for more than a decade on the hugely popular crime show.
Although the actors are no longer paired together on screen, Brian reached out to Pauley after an emotional Twitter post and shared his pal’s passionate plea for people to take the COVID vaccine.
Pauley told fans her sad news back in January on Twitter saying she was a “daddy’s girl” before adding: “Daddy didn’t make it. #RIP my beloved daddy. #Covid #Covid19.”
The actor was flooded with condolences at the time but has since taken a political stance on encourage others to get vaccinated.
“My Daddy #FireFighter. My Daddy catching fish. My Daddy #Military. My Daddy cutting my hair,” she penned.
Fans of the NCIS stalwart added: “I’m so very sorry for your loss,” one replied. “I’ve been where you are except it was cancer that took my daddy. Just know you are not alone.”
Since then the star has been supported by her friends in her grief but has since become a pro vaccine supporter, urging her followers to get jabbed and save lives.
Tweeting earlier this week, Pauley wrote: “I WANT MORE #covid #VACCINE I’m vaxed, but watched daddy die to this cruel thief.” (sic)
She added a dig at the Republican Party, writing: “Why IS #GOP [ Republican Party[ killing their OWN PARTY? Daddy was a BIG GOP. He’s DEAD! GOP LEADERS ARE ALL #vaxed!!! You’re their pawns. They’re KILLING YOU! Think! PLEASE GET #VAXED or this is all you’ll have left”
To spread her message further she shared snaps of her father in his hospital bed as they FaceTimed before his death.
The actor shared a second strongly-worded tweet, writing: “Yes, my tweet IS personal and AWFUL! That’s my daddy, my WORLD!
“BUT PLEASE SHARE IT for him. He didn’t believe in COVID either! His last communication with me was ‘Don’t get this! it’s REAL!’
“Please get #vaccinated For my hardcore republican daddy. Please. #RT.”
Brian responded to her tweet with a broken heart emoji, adding: “So sorry my friend. Hoping and praying for many more shots in arms.”
Pauley’s message comes amid tensions within the party about the USA’s vaccine rollout.
She is reportedly taking a break from acting after her CBS sitcom Broke ended after one season and has gone into writing according to The Express.
