Bridget Fonda has been pictured for the first time in 12 years since she quit her Hollywood acting career.

The Jackie Brown actress, who turned 58 on Thursday, stepped out in Los Angeles this week.

The critically-acclaimed actress was last photographed publicly in 2009 while attending the premiere of Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds.

She stepped out of the spotlight in 2002 to focus on raising her son at the family’s ranch in Santa Barbara.

The star – daughter of Peter Fonda and granddaughter of Henry Fonda – was seen running some errands and giving a son a ride in her car.

Bridget stepped out with her dark hair pulled back in a low ponytail and went make up free for her outing.

She wore a striped T-shirt with a pair of dark wide-legged trousers for the low-key outing.

The Single White Female star, whose aunty Jane Fonda is also famous, was joined by her dog who stuck by her side as she got in and out of the car.

And the conscientious Godfather Part III star wore a paper medical mask to stay safe during the ongoing pandemic.

Bridget was wearing glasses and appeared to have her hands full as she was seen driving her 17-year-old son Oliver in her luxury Land Rover.

The star lives in the upscale Encino suburb of Los Angeles with her son and husband Danny Elfman, a famous composer and the lead singer of Oingo Boingo.

Their fancy neighbourhood is home to some huge stars, including Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra, Gwen Stefani and Selena Gomez.

Bridget happily gave up fame, and previously explained that she often questioned her right to be part of an inner circle of movie greats.

She struggled with her self-confidence and the pressure she felt was put on her as part of a huge celebrity dynasty.

She told Movieline back in 1993: “I wonder what kind of satisfaction I would have with where I am now if I wasn’t part of a family that has done such phenomenal work.

“I wonder what it would feel like to know that you’ve made it completely under your own steam. I sometimes wonder if I would be more at peace if I could know I made it by myself, instead of always wondering how many times my name got me in the door.”

She quit Hollywood in 2003, and at the time there were unconfirmed reports that she’d been struggling after a bad car accident left her with back injuries.

It was thought that the accident as well as the birth of her son one year later convinced her to retire from the industry and settle into a quieter life.
