Salt Bae’s new London restaurant is selling a £700 steak covered in gold

Kate and Rio Ferdinand are the latest celebrities to check out Salt Bae’s brand-new London restaurant.

The butcher — whose real name is Nusret Gökçe — went viral for his signature salt sprinkling move which involves him twisting his wrist at an angle to dust the grains from his fingertips to season some of the finest food.

The social media star already boasts Nusr-Et Steakhouses in some of the world’s biggest cities including New York, Dubai and Istanbul – and London is his latest venture.

Stars including David and Victoria Beckham and Naomi Campbell have already booked tables in London’s hottest eatery and Kate and Rio made their debut today with their baby son, Cree.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, former TOWIE star Kate shared a glimpse of their experience in the expensive restaurant.

The blonde beauty posted a video of her little man interacting with ‘Salt Bae’ who greeted the tot with a special bib before he tucked into his delicious meal.

Cree looked as though he was highly amused by the celebrity chef as he sat perched on his famous dad’s knee.

Alongside the video, Kate wrote: “Fabulous afternoon with the family.”

The former reality TV star also included a steak emoji – insinuating that she and her clan forked out on the £630 steak that’s on offer at the new London joint.

Grub doesn’t come cheap at the new restaurant as a gold-wrapped steak costs £630, while a burger will set customers back £100.

Elsewhere, cokes have been priced at a whopping £9.

Salt Bae’s prices have divided fans who have taken to social media to hit out at the Turkish chef.

“It’s cheaper to fly and have food at Salt Bae’s Turkish restaurant than to go to the London one. £9 for coke. £630 for Tomahawk steak. No thank you,” one person tweeted.

“A man who has created an entire brand and a chain of restaurants from internet hype charges people £11 for a Red Bull,” another fumed.

“44 Great British pounds for 4 Redbulls… Having a laugh,” someone else complained.

Nevertheless, given the chef’s online popularity and the Instagram-ability of his food, there’s no doubt that people will continue to flock to his new London restaurant.
