It’s the news fans of Eamonn Holmes have been waiting for.
The presenter is finally feeling good again.
The This Morning presenter, 61, has been sharing his battle with chronic pain on social media in recent months.
And he’s confessed that for the first time in five weeks he feels good.
Eamonn tweeted late on Monday: “My Physio has just left, and u know what ? For the first time in 5 weeks I feel good!
“Can’t believe I’m saying that but steroid injections from last week must be kicking in too. The comeback starts here ……. I hope.”
The popular presenter’s followers and famous friends were quick to send positive messages his way.
BBC Newsnight’s Sam McAllister tweeted him: “Yaassss! So delighted for you. Here’s to more improvements.”
And Three Degrees singer Sheila Ferguson wrote: “I’m so pleased. Sleep well.”
The presenter had previously complained that the pain was making it difficult for him to get any rest.
However one fan was quick to warn him that it might not be a long term fix. The user wrote to him: “Hope you don’t develop acid in stomach now.
“The steroids upset me rotten. Then once worn off I was doubled up in pain again. Hope you’re getting a cure not it being masked. Hoping you feel better and stay better.”
Eamonn revealed earlier in the month that the agonising pain had been caused after he “mysteriously” dislocated his pelvis.
He revealed to the Irish Independent at the time: “My back is now out of alignment as a result.”
He has been having physiotherapy and ice cold showers in a bid to ease his suffering and admitted the pain “hurts like hell”.
He also admitted he uses a circulation booster every day to try to keep the pain under control.
He said he uses the kit for 20 minutes a day and it sends electric pulses to ease blood flow.
He explained that the device had helped him get back out on the golf course and allowed him to walk his dog once again.
