Danielle Lloyd has defended pregnant women who voice their opinions over gender disappointment.
The 37-year-old model, who is mum to four boys and pregnant with her first girl, believes there should be a much wider discussion on the taboo subject.
“I really thing gender disappointment needs to be spoken about much more,” stressed pregnant Danielle.
“My midwife told me that it can be a cause of depression.”
Former Celebrity Big Brother star Danielle shares sons Archie 10, Harry 9, and George, seven, with ex-husband and former footballer Jamie O’Hara as well as three-year-old Ronnie with her hubby Michael O’Neill.
And the TV personality has made no secret of her desire to have a girl with Michael – and revealed she would have gone through controversial gender selection treatment if her fifth child was another boy.
However, the controversial practice has been condemned by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and is currently illegal in Britain.
“No one wants to talk about it – you’re made to feel ungrateful and selfish if you do,” offered Danielle.
“But it’s a thing – I’ve had so many messages from mums or pregnant women thanking me for voicing it, because they feel like horrible people if they were to express their disappointment over having a boy or girl.”
Former Miss England and Miss Great Britain babe Danielle recently revealed on social media that she and her hubby are expecting a baby girl.
Danielle and Michael hosted an adorable gender reveal to finally discover the sex of their second baby together.
Taking to Instagram to share the special moment with her admirers, Danielle’s sweet video saw her boys pop the balloon which was filled with pink confetti – revealing that the happy couple are expecting a baby girl.
Reflecting on the family’s special gender reveal party, Danielle wrote on social media: “This was the magical moment we did a gender reveal for the boys and as you can see their reactions are priceless,” she said. “We all can’t wait for you to arrive princess.”
She admitted in an interview with New magazine: “As long as the baby’s healthy, it’s still a child and still my baby at the end of the day.
“We’d planned to go to Dubai in August for gender selection, so that was all booked to go ahead, but it looked like Covid was going to change all that.”
Danielle has had a number of surgeries including a bum lift, boob reconstruction, eye lift and lipo.
But the expectant mum admitted that having a daughter has been her feel “complete” in life, and that she’s not concerned about having any more procedures right now.
“I can’t see surgery being a priority anytime soon,” admitted Danielle.
“Plus, I’ve barely put on weight this time around, so I definitely won’t need lipo!
“But who knows, I may still want to get a face lift at 60.
“[But] the fact that I’m finally having a daughter has made me feel so happy and so complete.”
