Courtney Stodden has slammed Chrissy Teigen’s apology after the former model and cookbook author claimed she tried to speak to the former teen bride privately to apologise for abusive tweets.
Last night, Chrissy held her hands up admitted to sending a barrage of mean messages to Courtney after resurfaced tweets showed the mum-of-two telling them to ‘die in their sleep.’
The 35-year-old wife of John Legend has since called her past behaviour ‘insecure, attention seeking and embarrassing’.
Courtney, who is non-binary and uses pronouns they/them, responded by calling into question Chrissy’s claims that she tried to reconcile their differences in the past.
Taking to Instagram, Courtney wrote: “I accept her apology and forgive her. But the truth remains the same, I have never heard from her or her camp in private.
“In fact, she blocked me on Twitter,” added Courtney, sharing a screen shot to prove it.
They went on: “All of me wants to believe this is a sincere apology, but it feels like a public attempt to save her partnerships with Target and other brands who are realizing her “wokeness” is a broken record.”
Chrissy has come under fire in recent days after a number of tweets she sent Courtney in 2011 went viral.
In 2011 Chrissy publicly tweeted that Stodden should ‘go to sleep forever’.
Former Celebrity Big Brother Courtney opened up about the abuse this week, revealing that as well as the public messages, Chrissy would also ‘privately DM me and tell me to kill myself.’
Courtney, 26, found fame after controversially marrying Green Mile actor Doug Hutchinson when she was 16 and he was 51.
This week they revealed: [Chrissy] wouldn’t just publicly tweet about wanting me to take “a dirt nap” but would privately DM me and tell me to kill myself. Things like, “I can’t wait for you to die.”‘
A ‘dirt nap’ is a slang term for death.
In 2011 Chrissy publicly tweeted to Courtney: “My Friday fantasy: you. dirt nap. mmmmmm baby.”
Another tweet from Chrissy told the reality star to ‘go. to sleep. forever.’
Chrissy took to Twitter to admit her wrongdoing, posting: “Not a lot of people are lucky enough to be held accountable for all their past bullshit in front of the entire world. I’m mortified and sad at who I used to be. I was an insecure, attention seeking troll. I am ashamed and completely embarrassed at my behavior but that is nothing compared to how I made Courtney feel.
“I have worked so hard to give you guys joy and be beloved and the feeling of letting you down is nearly unbearable, truly. These were not my only mistakes and surely won’t be my last as hard as I try but god I will try!!
“I have tried to connect with Courtney privately but since I publicly fueled all this, I want to also publicly apologize. I’m so sorry, Courtney. I hope you can heal now knowing how deeply sorry I am.’
“And I am so sorry I let you guys down. I will forever work on being better than I was 10 years ago, 1 year ago, 6 months ago.'”
