Chrissy Teigen has revealed the bags and bags of letters penned to her since the loss of son Jack.
Back in September, the 35-year-old Cravings cookbook author and her husband John Legend, 42, suffered a pregnancy loss.
The pair – who are parents to daughter Luna and son Miles – had planned to name their baby boy Jack but he was lost at 20 weeks gestation.
And on Thursday, Chrissy took to her Instagram Stories to share that she has been sent lots of mail from fans – that she was unable to collect, until now, due to the location being closed – and that the “condolence letters and cards and books” meant a lot to her.
As she filmed the stacks on envelopes, she said: “This is just piles of letters that we just got because the place we usually get mail from, where you guys send mail, has been shut down and it opened back up.”
Chrissy choked up as she went on: “And now we got everything, you guys sent the most amazing condolence letters and cards and books, and I just wanted you to know we got all of them. All of them. And I’m gonna read them all, okay? I love you guys.”
Jack was due in February and on his due date Chrissy honoured his memory by wearing a bracelet with his name on it alongside two others with the names of her two kids, Luna and Miles.
She shared a photo on her Instagram page of the bracelets stacked on her wrist and wrote: “Today was your due date. we love you forever.”
Chrissy shared a number of poignant pictures in the aftermath of the tragedy of lossing Jack.
The photos illustrated the pain she and her husband John Legend were suffering, and the Sports Illustrated model explained she posted them to help others who have experienced the tragedy of losing a baby.
Chrissy courageously opened up about their loss when she announced that baby Jack died by writing on her Instagram page: “We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before.
“We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.
“We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital.
“But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack. So he will always be Jack to us.
“Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever.
“To our Jack – I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you.
“Thank you to everyone who has been sending us positive energy, thoughts and prayers. We feel all of your love and truly appreciate you.
“We are so grateful for the life we have, for our wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the amazing things we’ve been able to experience.
“But every day can’t be full of sunshine. On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it.”
Chrissy has come under fire in recent months after being called out over vile online comments in years gone by to stars such as Courtney Stodden.
The unacceptable behaviour led to many big-name companies, including Bloomingdale’s, cutting ties with Teigen and removing her products from their stores.
