Britney Spears’ Toxic video co-star has called the pop star a ‘beautiful person’ amid her ongoing conservatorship battle.
Martin Henderson starred as Britney’s love interest in the steamy 2003 music video, and 18-years on, he has gushed over the singer and her gentle nature.
Lifting the lid on his experience acting alongside the pop princess, Martin insisted that Britney is a wholeheartedly ‘good person’.
The actor told Page Six: “She was such a genuinely good person.”
“I felt so much of what was happening to her was because of the way she was hounded and treated.
“I think anybody in that kind of situation with that kind of stress would have moments of struggle and I think it’s not a surprise that she came undone the way that she did.”
The Virgin River star went on to share his thoughts on Britney’s ongoing conservatorship battle after the Hit Me Baby One More Time hitmaker labelled her situation as ‘abusive’ last week.
Martin shared: “I just think whatever’s going on needs to be transparent so the courts can rule in a way for her good. I would hate to think she’s being controlled or manipulated in any way because I think she’s really a beautiful person.”
After locking lips with the blonde bombshell in the unforgettable Toxic video, Martin went on to star in Grey’s Anatomy.
While the actor is no longer close to Britney, he has been watching her story closely and has thrown his full support behind the singer.
It comes after Britney is reportedly ‘feeling great’ as she continues to rally for the end of her conservatorship.
The 39-year-old pop princess, who has been in the conservatorship for 13 years, recently faced a series of successes in the case against her father Jamie Spears.
A source speaking the singer has since revealed that Britney is feeling increasingly optimistic about her future.
The latest remarks came after Britney was told she could appoint her own lawyer, in a huge win for the singer.
Speaking to E! Online , an insider explained that the mum of two was thrilled with the latest updates.
“Britney’s doing great. She really does feel like she’s on her way to freedom. All she wanted was a lawyer who believed in her and will fight for her,” the source explained.
Following the ruling, Britney took to social media and publicly threw her support behind the Free Britney movement for the first time.
