Bad Bunny Releases Melancholic Short Film for Upcoming Album ‘Debí Tirar Más Fotos’: Watch
Bad Bunny is gearing up to release his highly anticipated new studio album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos, set to drop on Sunday (Jan. 5). Ahead of that, he’s premiered a short film on YouTube that serves as a companion piece to the upcoming LP.
Written and directed by the Puerto Rican hitmaker (born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) and Arí Maniel Cruz Suárez, the 13-minute film features iconic filmmaker Jacobo Morales — who starred in Bad Bunny’s teaser video that announced his new album — and Morales’ loyal friend Concho (voiced by Kenneth Canales).
The story begins with Morales digging up a box in which he’s saved a few photographs. He opens it up but explains to his friend Concho that he wished he had taken even more photos back in the day because his memory isn’t as good as it used to be. As they look through the old photos, Morales steps out to buy food. On his walk to the bakery, he realizes that the neighborhood has been gentrified. He encounters a family who speaks English and is listening to country music, and the cashier at the bakery takes his order in English. Oh, and they don’t accept cash anymore.
A melancholic Morales returns to his friend, and while sitting on the front porch, a red car passes by playing that “sonido del barrio,” or music that represents the island — a glimmer of hope.
Bad Bunny’s Debí Tirar Más Fotos, which follows his 2023 Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana, will include previously released singles “EL CLúB” and “Pitorro de Coco.”
