You Can Now Voice Control Your Home With Your Mercedes

Mercedes-Benz just revealed a new smart home function to its MBUX Voice Assistant, which enables drivers to control their house via their car.

Any vehicle with the MBUX Voice Assistant, which is included in most new Mercedes models, can now access this feature. The function works with various smart home devices from Philips Hue, Samsung SmartThings, TP-Link, and myQ by Chamberlain Group, including lights, smart plugs, thermostats, garage doors, motion sensors, and more.

Let’s just say you are driving in your Mercedes-Benz S-Class and want to know if the kids made it home safely from school. You can ask, “Hey Mercedes, is there anyone in my house right now?” The system can then respond by saying, “Yes, there was movement detected in the kitchen two minutes ago.”
