The first photo from the upcoming Bruce Springsteen film, titled Deliver Me From Nowhere, has been released, as shooting begins on first biopic authorised by Springsteen.

The snap shows The Bear star Jeremy Allen White as The Boss, in the film which will centre on the making of Springsteen’s 1982 album ‘Nebraska’.

The film is an adaptation of Warren Zanes’ book by writer-director Scott Cooper, whose previous films include Crazy Heart, Black Mass and Antlers.

“Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska has profoundly shaped my artistic vision,” said Cooper in a statement on Monday. “The album’s raw, unvarnished portrayal of life’s trials and resilience resonates deeply with me. Our film aims to capture that same spirit, bringing Warren Zanes’ compelling narrative of Bruce’s life to the screen with authenticity and hope, honouring Bruce’s legacy in a transformative cinematic experience.”

Looks mighty promising…

Bruce Springsteen recently shared his thoughts on Allen White’s casting, telling The Telegraph the actor was “the right guy” for the role.

“I only had to see him on The Bear, and I knew he was the right guy, because he had that interior life, but he also had a little swagger.”

Jon Landau, Springsteen’s longtime mentor and manager added that playing The Boss would see White “depicting a very interior person. There’s always a tremendous amount going on, some of which gets articulated, and some of which is held back.”

According to Variety, Succession’s Jeremy Strong, who recently starred in the Donald trump biopic The Apprentice, is rumoured to be playing Landau.

Springsteen and Landau are closely involved in the making of the movie.

Deliver Me From Nowhere is expected to be released next autumn.
